Mesa Public Schools (MPS) has begun the process of selecting a new superintendent to succeed Dr. Andi Fourlis, who announced her retirement effective June 30, 2025, after a distinguished career dedicated to student achievement and community engagement. Board President Marcie Hutchinson announced at last night’s Governing Board meeting, the Board has selected Hazard, Young, Attea, & Associates (HYA), a nationally recognized search firm, to assist with recruiting, engagement, screening, and consulting.

Community Input through Online Survey

MPS invites all stakeholders, including parents, students, educators, and community members, to participate in an online survey to share their vision for the district’s next leader. The survey is an opportunity to share perceptions of the school district and the importance of various characteristics found in effective superintendents. This input will help the Governing Board shape the selection criteria for the new superintendent.

The survey is accessible on the district’s website and will remain open until November 8, 2024. The Governing Board strongly encourages all community members to participate and help define the future of Mesa Public Schools.

Stakeholder Focus Groups

In addition to the survey, HYA will conduct focus group meetings with school and district staff, gathering additional insights to ensure the new superintendent meets the unique needs of Mesa’s diverse community.
