We love to partner with parents who have knowledge of industry professions and invite them into our classrooms to enrich the student's work-based learning experiences.  We are creating a database of Red Mountain parents and/or community members who may be interested in being a guest speaker, providing a job shadow experience, or perhaps inviting a senior intern into their place of business to gain real-world experience in a field the students have studied.  Our promise to our students: Every student in Mesa Public Schools is known by name, strength and need and graduates ready for college, career, and community.

Guest Speaker
Students love to hear your story of how you chose your profession, what steps you took to get there, and what a day in the life is like on the job. Students especially enjoy hearing about your experiences that complement lessons learned in the classroom.  Time commitment:  One class hour or less or more than one class if you would like. It's totally up to you.

Job Shadows
We are also looking for opportunities for students to visit local businesses gaining insight into the day-to-day operations, see the employees at work, and learn more about your place of business. Job shadow time commitment is usually two to three hours.

Internships
Seniors who have completed the first year and are in their second year or have completed their second year in a CTE (Career and Technical Education) course are placed as interns to gain further work-based learning experience in a field they have studied at Red Mountain.  Do you have a business that would be interested in hiring a qualified part-time student to contribute to your company?  We will be happy to have further discussions as to the details of this experience.  The students are required to work 123 hours per semester which averages 8 - 10 hours per week with pay.  We are hoping businesses will be able to interview and hire students late spring 2023 for next school year and students will start internships upon return to school in  August, 2023.   We will contact you regarding next steps and more details if you are interested.

Please complete this form if you are interested! Thank you for considering partnering with us and making a difference in the lives of our students.
